4.  It doesn’t matter.  Once again trust is the most important factor.
5.  It’s a big maybe.  There are many factors that can determine the success of you site showing up on the first pages of specific keyword searches.  You should be able to get specific details from the web developer prior to site design.
6.  Once again there are many factors and options that go into site updates.  If your site needs little changes per year then a trusted designer or webmaster might be a good way to go.  If you are in need of constant updates and control of the site then you might want to consider a CMS system or blog.  Still a simple consultation with a web designer/developer will help give you neccessary info to make your own educated decision.

These are only two of the reasons why people go online.  I’m sure that you can think of many more valuable reasons to use the internet in your day to day life.  But the fact remains that the Internet is a mulit-billion dollar industry.  Consumers can directly or indirectly make purchases online by using a credit card or by finding a store location that they will physically go to and make a purchase.

More and more these days people are going to the world wide web to find local businesses.  Why waste time thumbing through an awkward phone book when you can simply use local search engine technology and find what you are looking for with a couple easy clicks of the mouse.  Using google maps, yahoo local yellow pages, yellowpages.com or any number of other similar sites– users can quickly find what they are looking for in any geographic location they choose.  A list of businesses in the local area searched appear with info and a link to the business’ website.  Thus making it quick, easy and convienient to find what your looking for in you local community.  It’s no surprise that consumers are using this service more and more each day.

I personally have used all of the above mentioned websites for local searches and will continue to do so for a long time.  To me the phone book is a thing of the past.  It just takes up space in my already cluttered life…not to mention a huge waste of paper.

With more and more people using these types of searches daily you can no longer afford not to have a website.  These local listing services are free and can provide any local business with a good source of additional exposure and sales.
